Product Description
Family life in wartime America could be fun…if you had a sense of humor! Here's William Bendix as the clamorous-yet-caring father and "revoltin'" riveter Chester A. Riley, who always seemed to end up on the silly side of things!
Through 16 digitally restored and remastered episodes from 1944, Riley cozies up to the boss, competes with the neighbors, and causes all manner of comic calamity. Paula Winslow, Conrad Binyon, Sharon Douglas, and John Brown co-star, as the Riley family soldiers on through vacation troubles, miscommunications, and screwy celebrations.
Includes a Program Guide by Daniel Riedstra.

What a revoltin' development THIS is!
I like to describe THE LIFE OF RILEY as "radio's comfort food." It's nothing fancy, but there's nothing more satisfying then spending a half-hour with William Bendix who, as Chester A. Riley, was the yardstick for all the doltish dads that populated the history of situation comedy. The star of RILEY, of course, was actor John Brown; his portrayal of somber undertaker Digby "Digger" O'Dell made the mortician one of radio's most memorable characters...not to mention adding a necessary touch of macabre humor to add perfect seasoning to the goulash that is LIFE OF RILEY. You can't go wrong with any of Radio Spirits' many RILEY compendiums.
