Product Description
Walk the streets of Dodge City with William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon in twenty masterpieces of western storytelling. Dillon was not a straight-backed rider with a steely jaw. He was a man who had seen too much, a survivor of conflicts he'd rather have avoided…a man who knew only too well what errors of judgment could cost on the frontier.
Parley Baer played Dillon's sidekick Chester, a seemingly naive yokel who was nevertheless as cold-blooded as Dillon when occasion demanded. Howard MacNear was Doc Adams, a cheerfully morbid fellow whose blackened sense of humor hinted at dark secrets in his past. And Georgia Ellis was Kitty, a "dance hall girl" who knew how to handle herself. Gunsmoke brings listeners compelling stories of frontier life with unprecedented realism.

Gunsmoke Flashback
This is a program that never lets you down. The characters are always fine-drawn and well-acted. I'm often amazed by how well they can tell a particular story in a thirty-minute format, including commercials. I think it's worth mentioning, too, that, considering the era in which these stories were broadcast, there's a surprising concern with racial prejudice and ill treatment of women. Gunsmoke was really ahead of its time in this regard. And although Matt Dillon is truly and epic hero, there are times when even he can't bring about a happy resolution. Gunsmoke is modern storytelling at its best.

Wonderful stories. Great acting. High quality sound. Informative Program Guide. Cover picture showing main actors. A good sample of Radio Gunsmoke programs.
Hope Radio Spirits will have more Radio Gunsmoke collections for sale soon. It is the best. I have been a fan since the 1950's.
